Here’s a new trailer for the upcoming family horror film Spirit Halloween: The Movie, which is based on the chain of Spirit Halloween stores that pop up in abanded business buildings all over the country once a year. The movie looks like good spooky and silly fun.
The story centers on a group of teens who find themselves trapped in a Spirit Halloween store, located in an abandoned Toys R Us, and they are terrorized by a group of monsters such as Buzzsaw, Nightcrawler, and Mr. Dark. It looks like a film that will offer up some silly fun.
In the film, “When a new Spirit Halloween store appears in a deserted strip mall, three middle-school friends who think they’ve outgrown trick-or-treating make a dare to spend the night locked inside the store Halloween night. But they soon find out that the store is haunted by an angry evil spirit who has possessed the creepy animatronic characters. The kids embark on a thrilling and spooky adventure in order to survive the night and avoid becoming possessed themselves.”
The movie stars Christopher Lloyd as a “wealthy land developer Alec Windsor. Decades ago, one Halloween night, Windsor disappeared without a trace and ever since his cursed spirit is said to haunt the town each year on October 31 for one hour.”
Rachael Leigh Cook plays Sue, “who has recently remarried after her husband passed away. When a Spirit Halloween store pops up in an abandoned strip mall, Sue’s teenage son Jake and his friends decide to spend the night there for a dare. But they get more than they bargained for when an angry spirit posses the animatronic characters inside.”
The film also stars Donavan Colan (Zoe), Dylan Frankel (Raven’s Home), Jaiden Smith (Blue Bloods), Marla Gibbs (El Camino: A Breaking Bad Movie), and Marissa Reyes (Raven’s Home). It looks like the movie was shot at an abanded Toys ‘R Us store.
David Poag directed Spirit Halloween, which will possess theater in October 2022.
